Scenarios
The scenarios are designed for in-person practice with the Zoll. Use the public slides for learner review; facilitator-specific prompts belong in the instructor guide.
Each case now includes a brief resident/nurse-team interface prompt: who has bedside context, what the resident should ask, and how the plan should be closed-looped.
Defibrillator Simulator
Practice manual defibrillator workflow before the cases: pad placement, synchronized cardioversion, defibrillation, and transcutaneous pacing on a 3D virtual patient.
Case 1
Code blue for an unresponsive patient with no pulse. Focus: rhythm-check process, uncertainty, and using recorder/timekeeper input.
Case 2
Telemetry-triggered code blue on hospital day 2. Focus: first rhythm decision, team timing, and immediate post-ROSC priorities.
Case 3
Young patient collapses on telemetry after receiving several inpatient medications. Focus: rhythm recognition, medication-history input, and choosing the safest immediate action.
Case 4
RRT for a hospitalized patient with a very fast heart rate. Focus: stability assessment, bedside/outreach story, and deciding whether rhythm-specific treatment or escalation is needed.
Case 5
RRT for bradycardia with hypotension and confusion. Focus: preparing the room, equipment, and team before further deterioration.
