Facilitator Case Map
Use these labels for setup and debrief; learner-facing scenario cards intentionally hide the key diagnosis or management issue.
- Case 1: Metabolic derangements / ESRD - asystole versus fine VF.
- Case 2: VF/VT arrest with post-ROSC ECG and stabilization.
- Case 3: Polymorphic VT/TdP after QT-prolonging medications.
- Case 4: Tachycardia during RRT with adenosine guardrails.
- Case 5: Complete heart block / unstable bradycardia.
Session Setup
- Confirm the 2026 pre- and post-session survey links before publishing.
- Confirm site-specific rapid response, code blue, shock team, cath lab, brain attack, and VA transfer workflows.
- Confirm whether each site has a nurse-led critical care outreach workflow before formal RRT activation.
- Confirm how bedside nurses, charge nurses, outreach nurses, and critical care nurses expect residents to communicate during RRT/code events.
- Decide which case station will explicitly assess use of bedside/outreach expertise for next-step planning.
- Confirm the Zoll model and defibrillator workflow learners will practice.
- Keep public slides learner-safe; put facilitator prompts, case answers, and timing notes in the preceptor guide.
What To Update After Each Cohort

- Manual PDF and quick-reference screenshots.
- Case order, scenario wording, and any site-specific changes.
- Nurse/outreach feedback on whether the scripts match actual workflow.
- Scenario notes about resident/nurse interface problems observed during simulation.
- Any revised activation criteria or follow-up expectations from nurse response teams.
- References that materially affect resuscitation leadership, termination, family presence, or rapid response systems.
- README,
CITATION.cff, and release/archive notes.
